Yixiao Qin is a Chinese animator, creative technologist, and director based in Corvallis, Oregon. She received her M.F.A. in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2024 and currently works at OptiTrack, where she focuses on mocap workflows, real-time production pipelines, and creative technology for animation and interactive media. Her work explores the intersection of Chinese culture, storytelling, animation, and emerging technologies. By combining mocap, real-time rendering, and traditional animation principles, she creates work that bridges artistic expression with technical innovation. Her creative practice is driven by a passion for using technology to make cultural storytelling more immersive, expressive, and accessible to global audiences.

Her thesis film, Chinese Kung Fu Girl, received Silver Awards in both the Animation and Cultural categories at the 2025 MUSE Creative Awards. She continues to explore how animation can preserve cultural heritage while expanding the possibilities of digital storytelling through mocap, real-time technologies, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Through her work, Qin hopes to build meaningful connections between cultures while exploring the future of animation and emerging technologies.
